Phenology and Stress Configuration

This module manages the definitions of crop phenological stages and the stress factors that can affect crop development. These configurations are used by the crop simulation models to predict how crops will grow and develop under different climate conditions.

Phenological Stages

Phenological stages represent the different phases of crop development, from planting through emergence, vegetative growth, flowering, and maturity. Each stage is defined for a specific crop and includes a name, short name, description, and the order in which stages occur. The configuration also includes the average duration in days for each stage, which the crop models use to simulate development timelines.

Administrators can also configure model-specific parameters for each stage, including start and end model parameters that define how the simulation models transition between stages based on accumulated temperature or other environmental factors.

Stress Definitions

Stress factors represent the environmental conditions that can negatively impact crop development. Each stress factor has a name, a short name, and a category that indicates whether it is crop-related or weather-related. Examples include water stress, heat stress, cold stress, and nitrogen stress. These stress definitions are used across different crops and are linked to phenological stages to determine when during the crop cycle each stress factor is most relevant.

Phenological Stage Stress Mapping

This section links stress factors to specific phenological stages, defining the threshold values at which each stress becomes relevant. For each combination of stress factor and phenological stage, administrators configure minimum and maximum threshold values. When climate conditions fall outside these thresholds during a specific growth phase, the system can generate alerts or adjust yield predictions accordingly.
